I’m Hayati İbiş, a Staff Software Engineer at Paribu.

I started as a backend developer and kept wandering: front ends, Dockerfiles, Kubernetes manifests, GitLab pipelines. Somewhere along the way I became the person who wants to know how the whole thing fits together.

These days I design the systems behind a crypto exchange: how events flow, how services agree on contracts, the API gateway, the matching engine, and how we prove it all holds under load. KrakenD wrote about the gateway part.

Before that I spent a while with deep learning and GANs. Now I’m learning LLMs and RAG the way I learn most things, by building small tools and breaking them.

I like spending time in MSFS 2024.

Here I write about the ideas underneath those systems: how they fit together, and the habits that keep them standing. This site is my Sunday reading: concepts first, specs cited, written slowly.

New here? Start with the principles, the rules I work by, each with an essay behind it.

Opinions here are my own, not my employer’s.

Elsewhere: GitHub, X, DEV, Medium.

If you’d like more of these, you can support the writing on Patreon, or buy me a coffee once.

Words are mine. Diagrams and toys are sometimes built with Claude and Codex.
